Royston Sowe is working with an emerging life science tools company that has a portfolio of biologics, reagents and custom services, with a wide variety of applications in life science research.

This organisation is currently looking to bring on an Account Manager to cover Boston, to help them achieve their plans of doubling revenue in the next year.

The right person for this role will be someone with a demonstrable track record of building commercial relationships with Academic clients. Experience selling life science tools is essential.

Location is flexible within the territory as this is a remote position.
  • Bachelor’s degree in scientific field, preferred majors in molecular biology or biotechnology; Master’s degree or above preferred
  • Proven experience in hands-on Sales and Business Development with Academic, and Pharmaceutical / Biotechnology customers.
  • Fundamental understanding of antibody and molecular enzyme products.
  • Highly motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and
  • can also navigate situations with a good degree of independence.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfortable with executive audiences.
  • Ability to travel as required within the USA.
  • Excellent client-facing skills and ability to develop deep, long-term relationships.

  • Research and identify opportunities for developing business relationships with new and existing accounts in Universities and Laboratories.  
  • Prospection methods include outbound calls and emails, trade shows, market intelligence data, video presentations and face-to-face meetings.
  • Take full responsibility for inbound leads, inquiries, and requests. You will follow up, schedule, visit, and track the conversation of those leads to customers and build a robust pipeline of high-quality, actionable opportunities.
  • Achieve sales quotas by providing excellent customer service and performing the entire sales process from inquiries, quotation to closing sales and after sales account management.
  • Be responsible for developing and supporting high-value opportunities for academia clients using products from across the portfolio to deliver enhanced client value.
  • Work with team members to innovate and improve the overall sales process.
  • Design and execute strategic business expansion plans in the market. 
  • Provide market feedback and business insights that can be delivered back into the organisation for product development and marketing plan.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure internal and external alignment of materials, deliverables, and expectations.
  • Administrative responsibility for required reports to the Director of Sales and entries into the CRM system.
